We, humans, are conquerors; we want a land of honey and milk for our descendants. Moses reclaimed the promised land for his people. Europeans went to the New World for a variety of reasons. And folks from Silicon Valley created a digital world. They all strived for a better life; we as humans always want to do better; that is our nature.
Starting fresh is one of the reasons to venture into unknown territory. Getting rid of traditions that are ruthlessly holding you back. Creating your world based on your morals does sound awesome. A land that shares your progressive ideas and that is full of riches. Somewhere where you can start anew, and that has a lot of future potentials.
In the olden days, there were plenty of unknown territories to be claimed. Nowadays, someone occupies a piece of land, and there is no free land left. We conquered and claimed foreign territory to expand and satisfy our needs. Now, expanding our territory is virtually impossible because of modern weaponry that will take too many lives.

A new never-ending world that we can explore and thrive in. The digital world helps in providing spiritual needs and material needs.
When it is possible to let people ‘play’ in a new digital world to satisfy their spiritual needs, then there will be less demand for other more polluting ways of spiritual satisfaction like travelling. And combined with an efficient data-driven industry, the material needs of the people can be satisfied. Why is such a change so important? It is essential so that future generations have higher living standards than we have today. The challenge that has to be overcome is the destruction of biodiversity, caused by pollution.
The digital world is not like a virtual simulated world. It is a world that can make our world more efficient, better to live in, and most importantly, sustainable. Take automatisation; through automatisation, we can make processes more efficient. And what about simulations, in which we can do experiments online so that costly resources are spared. The process of the ongoing digitalisation of the world will drive economic growth for a long time to come. However, the path will not be smooth there are plenty of uncertainties ahead of us.
The digital world connects everyone across the globe, and this incubates a revolution in knowledge. Everyone can share their experience with everyone else at an ever-increasing rate. The ubiquity of knowledge will spread through the digitalized world, the owl of Minerva will once again spread her wings over us and provide us with her sagacity. However, the mob indulgently uses the digital world, since the barriers to pleasure have been lifted, which is the price we must pay. Pandora’s box has been opened.
The future lies in the new digital world. This newfound land of honey and milk is full of potential. It is making people across the globe more prosperous by fulfilling the spiritual needs of many. You can be at the forefront of the digital revolution by providing social media, online courses, entertainment, and digital self-actualisation through creating things online. There are plenty of opportunities to use, work, invest, and entertain yourself in the digital space. The new digital world is an invention that will boost economic growth for a long time to come.
